Why Académie Ste-Cécile International School?
Families who want to combine academics with the arts have limited options. The school began as a music and dance school and grew into a full boarding school offering IB and AP.
- Diploma variety: Families can choose among IB, AP or OSSD at the same school.
- Arts and academics: Students can continue music or dance alongside their high school program.
- Structured boarding life: The school is aimed at families looking for a clear daily schedule and a supervised residence.
Reasons: features that set the school apart
The school's history, academic program and boarding pages highlight the following:
- Three academic paths: High school students can take the OSSD plus the IB diploma, individual IB courses, or AP courses, so the program can be matched to each student's strengths.
- IB Diploma Programme: The two-year DP runs in grades 11 and 12. Subjects include physics, chemistry, biology, economics, history and philosophy, offered at standard and higher level.
- 18-student class cap: Elementary and high school classes are limited to 18 students, allowing teachers to adapt instruction to individual needs.
- On-campus residences: Boys and girls live on separate floors. The school provides weekly laundry and room cleaning.
- Two supervised study periods a day: These are built into the residence schedule to build a homework and review routine.
- Extensive facilities: The 30-acre campus has a gymnasium, running track, tennis and basketball courts, and a campus kitchen.
- Music and dance: The school started as a music and dance school in 1979, and these programs continue today.

- Location: Windsor is a medium-sized city at the southwestern tip of Ontario, far from Toronto.
- Fees: The school does not publish tuition or residence fees. Families should confirm current fees with the school before applying. Study permit decisions are made by IRCC, not the school.
Practical notes
The private school opened in 1993 and moved to its historic building on Cousineau Road in January 1995 and began its relationship with the IB in 1996. In residence, wake-up is at 07:00 and lights-out at 23:00. Weekend activities include sports, film nights and regional cultural events. Students under 17 who arrive without a parent need a custodian in Canada. High school programs are exempt from the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).
